What does it mean to "get business from the Internet?"
I dunno. I've never really done it, as a real estate agent anyway. Oh, sure, I get a hit every now and again from my (nearly abandoned) real estate blog, my Facebook page, and my www.CharmingOldDenver.com site, but it's certainly nothing I could live on.
I've half-heartedly experimented with various online lead generation systems and tools ($1800 here, $275 there) and haven't seen squat for my efforts or dollars. So, when I hear agents claim that they get "most of their business online," I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical... and admittedly a little envious.
So, with the goal of enlightening myself and my beloved readers, I've put together a panel of experts to tell us all exactly how they "get business from the Internet."
Lenn Harley, Karen Rice, Renee Burrows and Robin Sherman will be joining me in the SWS Studio on Wednesday, February 17th to spill the beans on the what's, where's, why's, how's, etc. of generating real estate business online. They may not tell us ALL their secrets, but if you're as clueless as I am about concept, I'm sure you'll know a whole lot more AFTER than you did BEFORE.

I won't be able to see your show....but you certainly have an all star cast! There is an art to picking people up off the internet and what you put out there is what attracts them.
Hey Jennifer, 80% of my business comes from the internet. It takes years to cultivate websites, blogs, and other lead generation tools but it is worth it. It became very profitable when I reached 300 unique visitors a day on my website back in 2006. Looking forward to checking out your show!!

Hey Jill - to answer your question - I sold real estate in Denver up until last May and I still do a lot of SOI business there. I don't really use the website anymore, but figured it wouldn't hurt to leave it up. You never know!

I had some one ask me if the social networking added to business. ummmm... Not really. But it is yet another way to build relationships and build upon existing ones. but it will never replace the basics of our "people" business.
The biggest piece is the google juice, and it is very easy for someone to find be because of AR and FB... But they are already looking for me based on past efforts, not a cold lead.
Hi Jennifer...this sounds like it's be valuable for us all to hear, I do fairly well with Internet Leads, it's not a Silver Bullet, it takes a lot of follow up and quickly......but it is a great listing tool when I'm competing with other Realtors for a listing, nobody can show them my Google Juice from my AR Posts and my 850,000 Google search engine result with Fred Carver-ReMax.....it's a listing tool !!

In a time when 85% or more buyers start their search online. It's even more important to gleen some ideas as to how to capture those opportunities online.

I work regularly to keep in touch with my sphere of influence AND to maintain Internet presence. I have measurable results from both of those efforts! :)

Still generate most of my business from referrals and past clients but my Internet biz is picking up steam.

I'm IN!!! I have done reasonably well on-line and my business is growing. I would say that about $2 million in gross sales has come via the internet over the past year.
This I'm really looking forward to. My partner and I had over 80 leads from a well know lead generator last year and we got squat. Leads on my website are increasing a better conversion rate would be welcomed.
